UV-C is ultraviolet light that damages the DNA or RNA of bacteria and viruses. A damaged microbe can no longer multiply. No chemicals or residues are left. UV-C complements cleaning but does not replace it.
-
1Cleans the room air. A fan draws the air through the UV chamber and back into the room. The radiation does not reach surfaces; they are left to regular cleaning.1Acts on air and surfaces. The radiation reaches tables, floor, walls and air, everywhere the lamp's light shines directly.
-
2Runs all day. The lamps are inside a closed housing and no radiation escapes. The unit can also run during lessons or appointments.2The effect depends on distance and time. The closer the surface and the longer the lamp is on, the stronger the effect. The radiation does not reach shadows.
-
3Chosen by room size. What matters is how many times per hour the room's air passes through the unit. We help you find the right model.3Runs when the room is empty. For example in the evening after work, between shifts or after a visitor who was ill. Usually 15–20 minutes is enough.

What the Health Board (Terviseamet) recommends asking before you buy
In its consumer advice (2021), the Health Board (Terviseamet) lists questions to ask the seller before buying a UV device: is the device safe, is its effect proven, does it produce ozone and what happens to the lamp. Here are our answers to all eight. In its consumer advice (2021), the Health Board (Terviseamet) lists questions to ask the seller before buying. Here are our answers.
- Has the device been safety tested?Yes. The devices carry CE marking: with it, the manufacturer confirms that the device meets EU electrical and radiation safety requirements.
- Is the effect backed by documentation?Yes. The effect of 254 nm UV-C on bacteria and viruses is confirmed by published scientific studies. The sources we rely on are on the direct UV-C lamp product page. The same 254 nm radiation also works in the recirculator chamber.
- Does the device protect against radiation leaks? In a recirculator the lamps are inside a closed chamber and no radiation escapes, so it can run with people present. A direct UV-C lamp is switched on only when the room is empty, and a warning sign is put on the door.
- Does it come with the necessary information and a user manual?Yes. The device has a rating plate (voltage, power, model, manufacturer) and comes with a user and safety manual in Estonian. As the importer, we answer questions ourselves.
- Does the device have CE marking and a separate collection symbol?Yes, both marks are on the device's rating plate. The separate collection symbol means that an old device must not go in household waste: it is taken to an electronic waste collection point.
- Which materials does UV-C damage?Over time, direct UV-C can fade and embrittle plastic, rubber and dyed textiles, and it damages plants. Cover them or take them out of the room. In a recirculator the radiation stays inside the chamber and does not affect objects in the room.
- How long does the lamp last and does it contain mercury?A recirculator lamp lasts 18,000 and a direct UV-C lamp 9,000 operating hours. The lamps are replaceable and contain a small amount of mercury, as all low-pressure UV lamps do.
- Does the device produce ozone? No. All our devices have ozone-free lamps whose glass does not let through the radiation that produces ozone. The room can be used straight after the run.
